Robbie Coltrane, Hagrid in ‘Harry Potter’ films, dead at 72
https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/14/enter...ane/index.html
Stars from the “Harry Potter” universe are paying tribute to Hogwart’s resident gentle half-giant, Robbie Coltrane, who died on Friday. In a statement provided to CNN by a representative, Daniel Radcliffe called Coltrane, 72 – who played Hagrid in the “Harry Potter” film franchise – “one of the funniest people I’ve met” and recalled how the actor “used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set.” “I’ve especially fond memories of him keeping our spirits up on ‘Prisoner of Azkaban,’ when we were all hiding from the torrential rain for hours in Hagrid’s hut and he was telling stories and cracking jokes to keep morale up,” Radcliffe said, making reference to the third film. “I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he’s passed. He was an incredible actor and a lovely man.” RIP |

I really enjoyed his performances in the Bond movies, although that was just a sideshow during his great career. "Strangling a cat". RIP and he will be missed.
I used to know how to embed Youtube videos, can't figure it out. Here is the scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTxZeHy4kOI

I remember the first time I saw him was in a comedy series called ‘kick up the 80’s’ back in the 1980s. Brilliant & some of his stuff was/ is top class comedy
Funny someone mentioned bond above as that was the only thing I didn’t like him in. A true comedy genius. |

People often remember actors for the last or most famous thing they did. But he did a series called Cracker back a few years ago which was great.
Good actor.
