Another incoming post...
My AD called yesterday and said they had few pieces that I might be interested in. An SD43, TT Daytona white dial and a WG GMT BLRO. Wow what a stunning set of watches!
So I tried each of them on today. Mulled over the choices and decided on the Sea Dweller. I had not been on the hunt for an SD43 but admired it from afar and it basically just fell into my lap today! Now some folks may think I’m nuts adding another dive watch to my SubC date/ Explorer collection especially over that particular GMT. However, as beautiful as the WG GMT was it had not been on my short list. I would rather spend basically the same on a WG Daytona. I felt the same about the TT. It was gorgeous, and my wife really liked it as well. But TT just isn’t my cup of tea either so I had to pass on it as well. Thin slicing it today, the SD fit very well in spite of it simultaneously feeling significantly larger than my Submariner Date. I think I will get used to that though. The red script, fully graduated bezel and beautiful proportions of lugs to bracelet really spoke to me. It’s gorgeous! But wow it’s about as hefty as the WG Pepsi. What do my fellow TRF members think? I’m confident in my choice but what would you have picked today? Anyway here are some pics from field trip to my local AD... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Beautiful, congratulations!
I was offered a SD43 when I was buying my BLNR Jubilee a little over a year ago and passed. Partly because one purchase a day is enough and partly because I was unsure about it. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I let my AD know I changed my mind and wanted one. About three weeks later mine came in. It wears very well, the size is not an issue at all. I thought no need for a SS Sub now. Well, a couple months later I was offered one and after wearing it a few minutes I had to have it. It is different enough to me that having the Sub and SD43 makes sense. Well, as much sense as anything in this hobby..... |

The best way to buy is to actually try on various watches as you have to get the feel, many congrats.

Thanks for all the congrats everyone. I think being to see multiples at one time really helps to figure out what you like vs just buying what’s available or popular.

Congratulations! Good choice, I asked my local AD about a Sea Dweller, and they said it was allocated and difficult to obtain. You are lucky!!

WG Pepsi 1000% would have been my choice. Pepsi bezel + Blue dial looks miles better than the SD43.
The SD43 and your LN is almost the same watch. Way too much overlap imho. |
