SKX007 - WINDING can be a problem
Hi Friends
I put on my SKX007 yesterday and I had to wind it up. You can't manually wind an SKX007 or SKX009 so what do you do and how do you know it is wound fully? So I got my SKX in my hand and pretended I was a traffic officer directing traffic to pass for about 50 lateral arm extensions from the elbow. The watch was working fine, and I thought it would have plenty of energy to go, but low and behold when I picked up my watch this morning it was approximately 45 minutes slow. So it must have stopped. ![]() What is the most convenient way of ensuring your SKX is fully wound???

So after you played traffic cop did you wear it for at least 24 hours? You have to build up a full reserve on it. Wearing it is the best option. Or put it on a watch winder.

It's like an old school Rolex in you have to wear it. I bought a wolf winder for it thought that was kinda crazy i do like the winding if the new turtle series better so I gave my skx away

The watch simply wasn't wound enough to be sitting that long. Either wear it longer or get a winder. Those are pretty much your only options with an SKX.

You can put a hacking movement in it pretty reasonably. I just wear mine for a day or two and it is good to go.

Padi will kill me but is this a case where a Wolf Winder might be an advantage?

I wouldn't call it an advantage or disadvantage. It's simply a tool. And up to you if you "need" such a tool. If you like interacting with your watch more than just strapping it to your wrist, don't worry about it. If you like the idea of not having to set it each time you wear it, then get one. There is no right or wrong here. Also, if you wear it every day or so, you basically keep it on a "winder" anyway.

I shake mine back and forth every time I wear it Steve. It runs for a few days when I do that.

Yep. Shaking it and wearing it all day is about all you can do. But shaking alone isn't enough for a full wind. Or at least it has never been for me.
