Cartier Santos: Large vs Medium
I have been eyeing a Cartier Santos for some time. For reference, my wrists are 6.5 inches and flat. Yesterday, I tried both the medium and large models. I was wearing the current gen Rolex sub. The medium felt too small on the wrist, similar to how DJ 36 wears or maybe even smaller. The large, on the other hand, felt big and sort of out of proportion for a watch that style. Curious how folks chose one over the other.

I haven't tried on either yet, but I'm wondering the same thing. I would think with your wrist size that the medium would have been a perfect fit. I have an 8" wrist but was still wondering about the two sizes since I would prefer a more modest size for that style watch.
For reference, I prefer my sports watches in the 40-42 mm range (e.g. Speedmaster moon watch) and my dress watches 38-40 mm. Although the Santos is a sports watch, it's a pretty dressy sports watch, so I would personally err on the smaller size myself. |

I am 6.5 too.. I go for medium, like you, I have a 40mm Rolex SS, and a few other pieces around 40mm too. I just like a bit mixture in my collection.
So I went for medium, and it's clean i.e. no date, and looks better proportionally. But again, that's just me, at end of the day buy the watch you want. I just had my Santos engraved, but I have yet to received the watch back so I don't know how it would wear on my wrist. |

For me, it's no doubt the medium, which looks more elegant (to me) and doesn't have the date (which looks better to me). I don't think of this as a sports model, so the larger size isn't "necessary". YMMV.

OP, I’d go medium as well. The large just looks a bit “bloated” to my eye. |

Foy you, medium.

My wrist is somewhere around 7.5 in this pic, give or take .25. I thought it was just about right for me and generally I like bigger watches (41-45). All this is to say that I'm sure that the medium would work well for you. Excuse the bracelets that my daughter insists that I wear.... ;-)

6.75" flat wrist. Have owned both. Medium was the right one for me. The large is way too big, imo.
