I don't think this poll is going to help you. I feel like almost everybody is going to say "Blue". IMO, blue not only looks best, it also has the higher resale value and if you're buying at retail that's a very nice bonus to have.

If you changed the question and removed "Blue" I am guessing you may get a different result. If you asked me what is best between Black/Gray/Silver, I would without a doubt say Gray. The Gray is stunning in person.

That said, I'd take any of them. They're all beautiful in their own way and I think you'd like whatever one you choose.

Good Luck!

A few notes for yo to consider: the blue is very dynamic in how it catches and reflects light giving it some more “depth” to the color. The white I saw in person this week. Very nice, very clean, good enough to buy, but it is very ‘flat’ compared with the blue and the whole watch from bracelet to dial seems one big same color.

Gray looks nice in photos but also found too flat in person. Black surprisingly more dynamic in person than I would have expected under bright lights.

Anyways, my pecking order goes: blue, white, gray, black. Black only getting the nudge down because there are so many other black dial watches that if you have SS Sports, you might as well get a non black dial.

Hmm. So I am not so enamored with the Blue. It seems to be as trendy as shiplap and islands. That said, I have not experienced all in person. I haven’t seen the white dial, but reviews say that it flashes silver and white depending on angle and light. Interesting to hear it’s flat.

I’ve been considering a 15500 recently.

The blue is gorgeous but I would probably opt for the Silver/White or the Grey. These two would offer a good change up in my line up. Black dial is nice but not a consideration considering how many black dials I have.

How hard are these to get ? I’m in NY - if I were to go to the boutique in NYC - what’s a realistic expectation in terms of delivery time etc... do they just take my name and info or do they ask for a deposit or ?

Grey is quite fascinating in person. It goes from very shiny steel to flat grey to dark sunburst grey depending on the angle and lighting conditions. Not sure if it is possible to capture that whole range on camera. You have to see it in person. Unfortunately for most of us it is not easy to walk into a boutique or AD and experience them prior to making a purchase.

Rum, you’re the best for posting these.

I have a black 15400 and it can look black, grey and even dark blue.

When the 15500 came out, I didn’t like the black, blue or gray. The dial just has too much empty space.

Now that there is a white silver like yours, it’s the only watch I want.
Somehow the emptiness on the dial blends better with the bracelet.

I used to want a white 15300 or white 15202 to complement my black 15400. I really wanted a white 5711 instead to complement my RO, but at today’s prices it ain’t happenin.

I appreciate the kind words. What I will say is the silver dial is much nicer in person and the photos only capture a fraction of its glory. Also something about the steel bezel and the silver dial being exactly the same color only in certain angles (I.e. never the whole dial but only certain parts of it) makes the whole watch sparkle in a way none of the other colors do imho. This is further enhanced by the lack of ‘automatic’ compared to 15400.

I will get a blue 15202 at some point (been promised) but it won’t replace my brilliant silver 15500 and I’m in no rush as I am enjoying 15500 so much now.

Watch this video—they do a far better job at capturing the dial. Skip to 2:30 mark :)

They’re all amazing but black goes long and never out of style. Me personally think this blue dial craze is getting long in the tooth.

Thanks - that’s not bad. I need to make a stop into the city at some point in the near future to Breguet - maybe I’ll stop at AP and see what they say. 6-12 months isn’t bad - don’t mind if it’s a little longer either.

One thing that I notice with the white (maybe it's the lightness of the dial to pick up the shadow better?) but when I rotate the wrist around and the light picks up, some of the squares start looking like trapazoids. It's almost like those old 3-D images where it changes based upon the angle. I don't see the blue doing that when I compare the two.

Macrowatch is right. Black has better reflects compared between white and grey too faded for me as well. But bleu is astonishing and that why AP has it as an exclusivity. Black has a grey shade when you rotate de watch which grey and white doesn’t do. Choice is yours.

Yes, lighter colors do show more depth to the Grande Tappisserie pattern. I've noticed that when comparing the grey and black dials. That said, they are all very "dynamic" as the watch moves and catches light from different angles.

I believe it’s the same but due to the automatic not being there you have much more space to enjoy the magic.

My friend has 15400 Rose gold with silver dial and it looks nowhere near as nice as on steel without automatic.

As others have said above the square pattern changes shape to trapezoid as well which you won’t really be able to see with the automatic label.
See below and then imagine automatic written across the best part.

Why do Blue dials continue to be all the rage?

Is it bandwagoning?

I think because of several reasons:
1) the 15202 comes only in blue (minus the special editions) and hence the blue is the more authentic one
2) the blue is nice after all. Is it the nicest? after seeing all the colors in person, i would say it photographs the best but all the colors are stunning in person and i would be happy with any of them.
3) Internet forums have a way of amplifying and pushing everyone towards one color. Every day there is a, which color should i get because i can’t get blue. Every time a new comer sees them, they get the answer for which one they want (fomo/bandwagoning). If you
4) resale value because of the 3 reasons above...
