My Turn..............

No doubt a few here will get a vicarious thrill reading this. But after 4 years of lauding the flawless performance of my BB GMT last week I found the date wheel positioned between the 5th & 6th. However, I could easily reset to the correct date. But from then on each day the date wheel would advance 2 days.

This does not at all change how I feel about this reference or brand. The BB GMT is still my all-time favorite watch. I had read the reason the date issue took time to resolve was due to the fact Tudor could not replicate the problem until they discovered it only happened w/ cased movements. Once that was established a fix was implemented.

Plus, the addition of 2 new references w/ the same movement [BB Pro & S&G BB GMT] confirm to me that Tudor has it resolved. It will be interesting to see if Tudor takes responsibility for this repair since my warranty expired June of 2021. I'll keep y'all updated on that.

The worst part for me is knowing my favorite watch will be gone all summer and probably won't be back on my wrist until next winter. Hopefully my THC will return from RSC soon so that at least 2 of my Tudor Land, Sea, & Air collection are on hand.

In the meantime, I do have an ol' 16710 hanging around if I get a Pepsi urge.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I was quoted a 15 week turnaround time. The good news is that it was back on my wrist in 5 weeks. I guess it is better to underpromise and……..

Sorry to read, Dan. I’m sure Tudor will fix it, but, since this is a known issue, I hope they make it right without charge despite being out of warranty.

That sucks Dan.

I guess you’ll have to suffer through with your 16710

High praise that the Tudor is your all time favorite

Hey Dan. Sorry to hear this but on a positive note you will be getting a fresh and updated movement fitted. Really looking forward to your updates and whether or not Rolex/Tudor will foot the bill for this...
Turnaround has been much shorter all three times I've had mine with the RSC but we are blessed to have them right here in Athens.
Now it's a good time to get that 16710 out in the sunshine

What are they normally charging to repair this issue, when the watch is outside of the warranty period?

Sorry to see that Dan, but not totally unexpected. Respect for the reveal, though, after so many positives

Same thing happened to me a while back. The good news, however, was the watch was back in a jiffy.

And, like you, it hasn't affected in the slightest how I felt about the watch. Still gives me thrill every time I put it on.

Here's hoping yours is back well before the end of summer.

Hi Dan, I could be mistaken but I recall reading somewhere (maybe on here?) that Tudor was already doing the right thing with this known manufacturer defect?

Thanks for the words of encouragement, everyone!

Hoping for both a quick turnaround & that it's covered under an gratuitous extended warranty.

I think -dustin was referring to the other definition of "THC".

And as always, your pictures are always great!

I'm wearing mine today, and I agree, it's a great watch.

Dan, kind of weird it took so long for this problem to surface. A lot of folks with this reference had the issue early on...mine's been spot on. Enjoy the 16710 this summer.

I bought and enjoyed the Tudor GMT as a "placeholder" while waiting on a BLRO. Once I received my BLRO (3 year wait with great purchase history) the dreaded date issue reared it's ugly head. Once the Tudor was fixed I sold it. Disappointed me to the extent I didn't want it any longer.
Now I enjoy my BLRO and BLNR and wear them both equally. The Tudor GMT is a fabulous watch I would recommend to anyone.
