Vintage datejust on straps or bracelet

Hi all, would like some opinions if your prefer a vintage 1601 on strap or on a bracelet ?

If a bracelet- jubilee or oyster?

I have always preferred the Jubilee Bracelet on this model of DJ. The leather strap is a nice changeup though and should be an option if so desired.

In my opinion, the only Rolex that looks good on anything other than the bracelet it came with, is the DateJust. I might be in the minority, but the DJ on a quality strap looks great and a natural fit.

My vintage DJ jubilee is at RolliWorks getting a Viagra treatment It's pathetic, flaccid, trademark sag is getting fixed.

When in doubt, ask yourself this: What would Carver do?

The vintage Datejust will go well with jubilee, oyster or leather strap. I even pair my 1601 with Tropic rubber strap. I know some may not like it but I think it looks great.

love the thread where he posts pics of his work. his band resto jobs are top notch. glad you are having your jubilee rejuvenated and expect wrist shots shortly.

oh and BTW regardless of what some random dude named Richard Carver says we prefer them on jubilee (even if he happens to be the king of datejusts)

A DateJust on a Jubilee is iconic for a reason; it just looks right.

It’s purely subjective in my opinion. I don’t think one can do better than a jubilee; it can be sporty, dressy, and rinsed off when needed. The classic, iconic look. That said, it’s your watch, your money, so do what pleases you! I have put leather straps on my trusty 1601 in the past, but it just didn’t work for me. Someone on here once said that Rolex put jubilees on them for a reason, so that’s my two cents worth to you! Cheers!!!

For me personally DJ looks way better on leather strap, specially vintage pieces. It also looks bit bigger on a strap. I always wear these two on different leather straps

DJ and DD belong on bracelets IMHO. Sports/professional models more suited to straps.
DD on NATO = BIG NO-NO
