Advice on Root Beer 16753!!

I went to my local watch shop with the intention of buying a 16710 Pepsi but this 16753 Root Beer stole the show. The starburst bronze and tritium dial, acrylic crystal, and clean bezel felt so unique.

I wanted to get some advice before I pull the trigger though. The dealer stated the watch is from 1985. There is no box and papers. States it was serviced recently.

What do you all think of the condition of the watch? He was asking $8900.

Unfortunately, it's pretty hard for me to say much about the condition from those photos, but nothing major is jumping out at me.

If you had your heart set on a pepsi, why now go for a two tone root beer?

Only you can answer that one - for me, root beers always look better in photos than they do in the flesh

Whereas pepsi’s always look stunning

If this rootbeer is singing to you, go get some more pics- proper pics with the bracelet off between the lugs and get the seller to take the back off and show us the movement. Take a lot of pics. You should not be worried about offending the seller, he's a dealer and you're paying good money and you've done the right thing by posting here before pulling the trigger, now just get us the info we need and you can buy with confidence. There are a lot of experts here just waiting to help you for free. Its amazing.

The hunt is great, enjoy it!!!

I hadn't heard that--- could be good to know- I've been wanting a Root Beer for ages but to this point, I haven't actually seen one in the flesh. I'd be inclined to stay with the Pepsi and now do an impulse change--

I'm not sure what that means but here are a few more pics of a rootbeer under various lighting conditions. It doesn't have that beautiful Tigers Eye dial in teh example above and is the 1675 version from about 1971 with a matt dial and beaten brown insert but I do enjoy it.

It looks like a nice watch. The lugs look thick and all looks correct including the band.

The only negative for me is the gold surround dial as most vintage collectors prefer a nipple dial.
