Custom Rolex dials new/vintage- https://fplusv.com/ Anyone buy from them?

Super cool custom vintage models. Great way to have something of your own liking and not have to make it all yourself. All done ready to go. Anyone into custom stuff?

There seems to be a trend of companies buying up 1601’s and “tarting” them up, then selling for significantly more than they paid for them – the (often missing) bracelets presumably not worth the trouble

If you look at how much a particularly tatty 1601 costs these days, you can see the mark up they are getting

Most people looking at these watches probably don’t look beyond the dial – if they did, they might make a “wiser” choice

Do I like the dials ? – yes – but not enough to buy a scrapped 1601 at a grossly inflated price ….

SO switching 2 components of the watch that can EASILY be swapped back sucks?

A Strap change you can do yourself......+........Dial swap.....= Custom Sucks - I dont understand your logic.

AND the 1601 is literally the least desirable AND least expensive Rolex on the market.

Lastly- If you find one, its a 40 year old watch, the dial will be deteriorated and will require a service. You going to need a dial restoration/overhaul anyways.

Why not "customize" a watch that has nothing to gain in terms of value.

This is not a GMT or Sub of that era which under no circumstance would a sane person should customize.

Hope this helps if someone wants to have an inexpensive and unique piece in their collection.
