GMT-Master 16700 questions

Okay, so I've been offered the following 16700, love the watch but not knowing very much about them thought I should probably get some advice here.

GMT-Master 16700 S-Serial, No box or papers & no service history on record:

Seller is asking for £6700 GBP (so circa $8750 USD)
Would this be a good purchase?

Does the watch look correct/original for it's age?

Looks good from the angles of those pix. See if you can get a movement shot to see it’s condition. Maybe a few more hundred dollars than I would pay for “watch only”.

Nice-looking example of the last of the "real" Rolex GMT (not to be confused with the GMT IIs.) You are paying an OK European price, which is usually more than in the U.S.

Tons of information out there on this model, including on the reference page of this fine forum:

I cannot comment upon the quality etc of this particular watch but can say that the 16700has become one of my favourites from within a number of sports models. Great all rounder. If you end up satisfied with this paticular one, you should seriously consider going for it!
