Thinking of getting my first Breitling

What do you guys think of this piece? I can get this 50% off retail new in the box. I was wondering what you guys thought of it being rose gold?

Not my style, but if you like it and are good with the price (50% off is a very good price), then go for it

Breitling make quality watches with COSC accuracy, so if you like one of them and the price is right that's all that matters

If you are buying a Breitling make sure its one you are going to keep... Resale is not great

Well I'm starting off at 52% off retail. Is that still bad on this piece?

When you say new in the box, does it come with Breitling's five year warranty or is it from a gray market dealer?

Yes and yes and yes it does.

I was starting to give up hope that people were going to actually reply to this thread. Thanks!

Hey Brett,
I have the Chronomat 44 B01 from 2011, steel pilot bracelet, two tone (meaning not full gold on the bezel), and i promise you this watch is marvellous. I love it but please bear in mind that it is a very flashy piece - all polished, super big, heavy on the wrist, a real bad boy. I wouldn't think twice if it were me, especially at 52% off retail.

Thanks man!!!!! I'm not worried about flashy. I own 7 Rolex watches and you don't get more flashy then that regardless of it's configuration.

I'm just glad to try a new brand. I'll post some pictures tonight.

I've owned several Breitlings. I think you'll enjoy this one. It looks great. Compared to a Rolex, it wears a lot bigger. At the price you are getting it for, you shouldn't lose to much if you decide to flip it. Pound for pound, Breitling makes a nice watch. I was disappointed in their B01 movement though.

Why were you disappointed in their in house movement?

That looks like the kind of watch you want to try on before you buy it. I never seem to like TT is pictures, but they can look good on the wrist.

With 7 Rollies, it sounds like you've got the funds and desire to be both a collector and a watch wearer. In that case, they say variety is the spice of life.

I had a Transocean Chrono malfunction. The start / stop pusher would not engage. I sent it in under warranty. It came back working fine, except then the power reserve wasn't right. Instead of sending it back, which cost over $200 by the way, I decided to let it go and traded it towards a Platona. I knew there were some bugs with the B01 movement before I purchased the TOC. I'm sure they would have fixed it again, but with the warranty running out, I decided to thin the herd and get the Platona. The TOC is a great looking piece though. So is the TT Chronmat you're picking up. Enjoy!

Well it came in and I totally love it. It is good to have variety. The TT is awesome. It is shiny what so what because so are all my Rolexes. I appreciate everybody's input. Nice pictures too.

I looked at the LE 24-hour Mercury 7 navitimer yesterday.

Overpriced due to LE status but it is a true 24 hour dial which I think is super-cool.

That watch in stainless (although the black PVD looked fine to) would be high on my "icon watch" list.

They do have one other 24-hour dial but it is like 65mm diameter (not really) but huge. Not for me.

Great watch. Picked my chronomat evolution in 2005 and it works perfectly.

Congrats!

I swapped my TT pilot to a leather band to make mine a little more casual.
