PM BLRO pricing gray market

Ive been looking into pricing on PM Pepsi’s and was wondering why the large price difference between the following two watches on DavidSW site. Does any one know if the only difference between these 2 watches is the dial color? If so, the 10k premium is insane! Me personally I love the black dial on the Pepsi, blue sort of throws it off.

Dial color + New vs Used

Otherwise, same thing. DSW is cashing in on the hype, but for the blue dial, it's currently cheaper to buy new at MSRP from an AD (not incl tax). Of course, you could still manage a discount.

I seem to recall reading that Rolex would swap black dials for the new blue for owners of the 719.

Rolex doesnt do anything for free hah.

And yes...New dial + unworn = 10K premium.
That's my guess without having inspected the old BLRO.

Early adopter's exclusivity premium, but 10K is still pretty high!

People pay ridiculous money for things they are too impatient to wait for. However thats been sitting there on his site for while. The other new models are also not flying off the self either.

In the world of "buy the seller" David has an excellent reputation and commands a premium for his offerings. Still, the difference here between the two watches surprises me.

And yes, I have been a D-SW customer, twice.

New (unworn) vs. Preowned (excellent condition but used). It seems as though the condition has more to do with his pricing in this instance than the dial color...

Well, the RG version is selling for 38k on the market...seems logical that the BLRO version is going to be right there with it.

Having bought the full PM Rosegold Rootbeer at MSRP, I enquired after the white gold blue dial GMT. Aurum group doesn't have a single piece in any location. :(
So I'm happy to just wait a while.

Rolex is sending Blue dials, just the dial, to the AD's who have the 116719BLRO black dials left in stock to change them out. This is for the AD's who do in store servicing. Remember this is why they didn't get the new movement ...
The Black dial will be the rare bird. Because all of the in stock black dials will be converted to blue dials.
And no one will know that their Basel 2018 WG BLRO is actually a Basel 2014 WG BLRO with a blue dial and an updated card....

I’m a fan of the black dial, although someone will undoubtedly purchase that blue dial.

For owners of the older WG 116719BLRO with the black dial - do you think they should just keep the black dial, as it would be a unique transition piece? Or just have Rolex replace the black dial with the newer blue dial?

I have decided to retain the black dial. Had Rolex offered to replace the black dial with a blue dial, allowing me to retain the black dial, I would have exchanged it.

I now have the new blue dial version and very happy with it.
Plus I have a lot of pieces with black dials and only a few pieces with blue dial so happy to add.

If I want a black dial I put the SS version on.
