Patek calatrava Circa 1960's

I have the opportunity to purchase a circa 1960's Patek philippe calatrava. The owner sent me servel sets of numbers...case 341075 mvt 796067 and 3459. It has a gold color dial and the mesh bracelet is attached to the head can anyone shed some light on price? Or any additional information? Worth even buying?

Does the watch look like this?

I think it would be better to show us pictures of the actual timepiece to get a good estimation as it will mostly depend on the condition of the watch. Keep in mind that you may have to have it serviced if you buy it depending on how careful the previous owner was and be aware that servicing a vintage Patek Philippe, even if it's a Calatrava, is quite expensive and quite long. You must think about that before buying it.

P.S.: I got the picture from Christies website, they believed it should sell for a price between 4 130$ and 5 420$ and it got sold at 5 162$. The case is also said to be 32mm wide so if you don't like small watches you may be disappointed.

By what she described yes. I'm going to look at it today. I know she's going to ask " how much" and just wanted to be prepared price wise to make an offer. I've read that service is very expensive and does take along time. I just hate to miss a great deal!!

By what she described?

If you haven't seen the actual watch I would strongly recommend you to carefully look at it and make sure it is 100% authentic. As well, make sure the seller is trustworthy!

Yes you sent a picture, I replied by "what she described" it matches the picture. So what's confusing about that? I'm very familiar with newer high end watches. Just getting a price idea on a 1960's model. That's all...

Please accept my apologies, I didn't mean to write something that would look or sound rude at all and I hope you didn't read it this way. I wish you the best of luck with the deal (if there is one), please keep me updated!

The seller should send you a picture. There are many factors which are relevant to establishing a price on a used/vintage watch. Sending you a picture may allow for 3rd party verification from people on this forum who have seen hundreds if not thousands of Pateks of the same vintage and can tell you if something is amiss or even if this is a stolen item. Also, the watch may be in lousy condition and not pristine as in a stock photo. So an Internet photo may be "exactly as described" but the watch may show considerable more wear and tear. At the very least, take plenty of Internet pictures of the watch and compare them to what the seller is presenting to you. Take a picture of the watch and post it on the forum. Have some of the resident experts check it out.

Good luck.

Well. My question still hasn't been answered. I'm not worried about it being stolen or fake. Original owner estate. I'm actually buying 7 from the family. I'm not up on Pateks. O well I'll search elsewhere from my answers. Thanks anyway

Well I did give you a price idea in my first post (in my P.S. at the bottom of it) as well as some information in the link I posted in it. As for the "worth buying", I guess it will depend on the condition and, of course, if you like it or not (I personally don't hate it, it does have quite a special look with the bracelet).

I think there was just a little misunderstanding Don, perhaps I should have left the link instead of putting it under the name Christies to avoid making it just look like an underlined word.

It's always a pleasure to talk about Patek's Don!

I agree Carl.... the only thing better than talking about them is looking at them, esp at the AD's..... LOL.

In French we do not put comas for numbers above 1 000 (or rather 1,000), reflexes got the better of me, as Bob Marley would say!

My apologies for the confusion!
