Nautilus 5726

Hey guys I am truly in love with the Charcoal dial version of this watch.
I do have a couple questions however? I know Pateks hold their value better than most but I am sure that different models vary. I wouldn't want to drop all that cash on a model that may not hold better than others. In terms of collect-ability I am guessing this model will be too common in terms of appreciation. I have never sold a watch from my collection but I guess its more a piece of mind thing to know the perceived depreciation to expect. Is their a better complicated Nautilus to consider for the money? What type of % off of retail can I expect for BNIB? I have seen them in the 20% off range in the for sale section? Please correct me if i am wrong. Thank you for your answers, I know there are some Patek super collectors on this forum who's opinion and taste I greatly appreciate. Before I considered this watch I had a plan of 2-3 watches with this money but I think most would agree to just go for the kill and get a monster piece.

I got 10% off mine from my local AD. They had to wait 2 years to get one, and they ordered it from Basel in 2010. They seem to be holding value just fine. There just aren't that many out there, because it was a new model in 2012. Hope that helps.

Definitely Helps, perhaps they will become more readily available as time passes.
Ever have any regrets with that model and wished you had purchased another? You can get a lot of watch for that $$. How much wrist time do you give it?

Fantastic watch and a great piece to wear everyday. If you buy it and decide to sell it in the short term will you loose money? Probably yes! If you buy the other three will you be as happy? Probably not!

Gorgeous Picture Hutchman. I have read that the 5726 is a bit thicker than other Nautilus. Is this noticeable/unfavorable among collectors? I am right to assume this will never be a "rare" piece correct, thats only for 100k type pieces?

i got my self an early birthday present the leather band version though.
For some odd reason I do not like PP stainless stell bands. feels off for me.

that and I personally find PP on leather too look better, seems more in place.
No offense to anyone with the all wg band or ss band.
but just my opinion.

I originally had the 5712G because of the more complicated dial and white gold
How ever, it is alittle smaller than my current 5726

With a patek you can't really lose. I say go for which ever caught you the most

5726 did not catch my fancy, but 5205 does. I felt that an AC complication fitted better on a dress watch than a sports watch. But that's me. I find the 5980 better fitted on a Nautilus.

As to 5726 holding it's value -- I think that's the case, similar to the 5205, maybe because these are just fairly new compared to the 5146. But all are equally good watches!

love the 5726.

are you looking for the one on the leather band or the metal bracelet?

Speaking with one of my AD's this week, they adviosed me that Patek had stepped up production of the Nautilus range, due to demand. And this had resulted in the Calatrava range production being slowed down.

A few months ago while walking around London, I noticed that there was no shortage of complicated watches the 5726 & 5205 included.

When the above two watches were released in 2010, I was interested in both, but upon seeing them, realised that the hands blocked the view of the apertures too much for my liking, so went with the 5205, which having had it now for 2 years, believe that the ledgilbity is brilliant in all lights.

If you decide on the 5726 get the newer one with the bracelet, as I believe that it will be more popular in the long run.

Be prepared to hold onto your Patek for at least 10 years, if you wish it to hold its value.

Regards

Tony
