Icon2 Eric Clapton Selling His Ultra-Rare Platinum Patek Philippe Ref 2499

Rock legend Eric Clapton is selling one of the finest of his watches, an ultra rare platinum-cased Patek Philippe (reference 2499/100P) Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. Watch fans — this is BIG, and let me tell you why: aside from the obvious fact that the watch is from the private collection of famous musician and Patek collector Eric Clapton, this Patek 2499 watch is one of only two ever made in platinum. Not only is it one of only two ever made, but Clapton’s Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 in platinum is the only one in private hands.

I saw this morning! Mr. Clapton has a huge collection! I think he's been wearing a nice Gondolo recently! Haven't heard anything about him since the Valencia GP. I'm a huge fan by the way!

Priceless!

I know Clapton is a die hard watch enthusiast (especially when it comes to Rolex and Patek Philippe) but I didn't know he owned such an unique timepiece! My guess is that he is selling it to get money for his rehab center in Antigua, that's usually how he does it (after all, didn't he sell Blackie a few years ago for that reason?).

Thank you for sharing Anders!

Ken, since you're getting this new piece, I'm assuming your 5070p will now be available?

Great! You've saved enough to get both the 5159J and R!

I would need to see some references before I buy it. Anybody know if he is a trusted seller?

Also the lack of real images leads me to believe its a fake.

It would be one of the all time best stories. Getting sold a fake watch from Eric Clapton.
