Patek 5164 pushers durability
Hi,
Thinking of picking a 5164 preowned. For the owners, how would you describe the durability of the travel time pushers? Worried that if the previous owner used the pushers a lot, I may have to send the watch for service after a while and get the pushers replaced. |

Not sure if I've ever heard of pusher issues with 5164.....mine feel very solid going back and forth between hours.

No issues with mine. The pushers are used very minimally and only when I’m traveling. Otherwise the skeleton hand stays tucked away. I suppose the pushers on a chronograph are used quite a bit more, and I’m not aware of significant issues with Patek chrono pushers. Get the 5164! It’s a very easy and comfortable watch to wear. And service is an inevitable expense for the regular maintenance of any nice watch, so don’t let that deter you.

The 5164 pushers feel very solid and I am sure they can take significantly more clicks than a normal user would subject the watch to even during a pro-longed interval between services.
I know some people claim the regularly experience the pushers being engaged by accident when wearing. However, I have only experienced the issue 2-3 times during a 5 year period of owning the watch. But even if this happens much more often for some people, I am sure the pushers will still hold up for many many years (far longer than the normal service interval). |

No issues with mine but they are not as sturdy as I would like, unlike the Nautilus clasp!

I absolutely love the watch and it’s an amazing complication to have...but the top pusher apparently was not working right in mine about 1.5 years into owning it. The watch actually was stopping randomly and when it went in for service they said it had to do with that and were going to replace one under the warranty.
