AP price drop!?!?

Someone just informed me AP just issued a price drop of 17%. Please tell me if this is true? Not sure if its on all models or just certain ones. I remember they did this a few years ago but I don't know if this is true that AP did this again??
Any info would be great!

this came from a source of mine at the largest Rolex dealer here in Michigan.. Could he be that wrong? I wonder why he would say this.

I will actually be very upset if they did go down 17% because I just spent $$$ on a RG 44mm.

Unless I could return it since its been less than 30 days and re purchase it at the 17% less

watch still has the seals on it.

Maybe to stop discounting?

After all...no one pays the RRP. So what's the point in it?

I have no idea if it is true or not - but I can understand why they would.

Not really a useful way to stop discount. And I think 17% is way way way too much even the reduction is true. Besides, it will definitely upset ALL the existing owners.

All in all, not really possible IMO.

I called AP boutique in ball harbor FL and they said they have not heard anything about a price drop so I guess this guy was wrong who told me this..

I remember AP decreased their prices about 3 years ago or so does anyone remember that? I purchased a rubberclad at that time

maybe they were referring to the price of the boutique only ceramic diver?

yet AP increased the price of the 44mm ceramic offshore.. perhaps in anticipation of another 10% increase across the board this year

I cannot say who has confirmed but this source is 100% solid . This information is currently only for dealers ears only which is why ADs are not confirming.

All I can tell you is, if AP or my dealer does not work something out for me being I just got this rose gold 44mm, I am done with AP.

Sure it's great for buyers but then guys like me get screwed.

I HATE the way AP always screwes with their prices it's not cool.

Did you actually pay the RRP on the watch though?

If not, surely it is irrelevant (unless the new price is less than what you paid).

So the retail price will go own 17% and then I'd get my regular discount from my AD? Thats likely more than a 35% from current retail price.

I wish I paid less than the decreased price...
I paid several thousands more but did not pay full price. I did get a discount

Still relevant. If he got a 30% discount, that's $42,840 on the old rrp and $35,500 on the new rrp. Pretty decent amount of change there.

It's a relatively new model so most discounts are around 20%. Problem is a 20% discount at the new price would be $40636. So if you bought w/ 20% at the old price, you'd have paid $48950 vs someone who buys now at $40636.

Well obviously, but who says 30% discount will be had with the new lower prices?

My point being there may not be the wiggle room there once was and perhaps dealers won't be able to discount heavily like before.
