Option 4: Mailman has a Sub .... :)

- makes it to Rik via USPS
- makes it back to UPS and on to Rik
- They find it and fly it down there

The communication from the UPS team has been outstanding, I've received multiple calls throughout the day letting me know the process etc.

***Update***

UPS has the package! Their high risk / high value team is handling it's delivery all the way to Rik.

They are also going to use the same level of service to get it back! Can't say enough about the UPS Executive Claims dept, outstanding drive to resolution.

UPS called this morning, their regional security guy is taking it to Rik as we speak.

Yes, the guy at the UPS store put the package in the outbound USPS bin. Their team went to the store and reviewed CCTV footage, saw what happened, got the postal inspector involved, and was picked up yesterday by UPS security here in Nashville. It then went into their high value / high risk shipping for the rest of the trip.

Once their executive team got involved it has been seamless.

Glad to hear things worked out. I had a very similar thing happen years ago. Bought a watch from a guy in San Francisco. He created a UPS label for it and left it in his company mail room to be sent out. Employee there dropped it in USPS bucket, camera footage showed it, and UPS was able to retrieve it from USPS.
