Thinking about a 40mm Pam

I have a 40 mm for sale. I am not wearing it. I would be scared to buy a 44mm. I think I will tire of the size. I may be totally wrong, but still afraid to drop $6k+ on a watch that will sit in the winder.

My 244 wears bigger than my GMT because it is much taller. I just think it is not a tool watch. I bought it because it looks awesome, imo. But it lives in the winder. I work in construction and prefer a watch that I don't mind scratching.

I only wear it when I have a nice diner or wedding. And with 2 babies, those diners are far and few.

Thanks for pointing that out. Not much sleep with a newborn and a 13 month old at home and 60 hours of work per week.

I have a 111 and a 210. The 210 sits better on my wrist because of the lower center of gravity (if that exists for watches :)). If you like the 40 go for it. The trend to always larger watches is even being counterbalanced by PAM with the introduction of the new 42mm models in the Radiomir series.

So I was with my girlfriend at an AD the other day and she tried on a 112. The 44mm was too big on her wrist and didn't feel comfortable. So she tried on a 49 instead. She loved the size of the 40mm. So the other day, I helped her buy a Pam48. Right now waiting for delivery. She's psyched!! I think it all depends on what feels comfortable on your wrists. By looking, the 44mm looks nice and would be the size I would pick. Btw, I have a 6.5" wrist so by no means large. But the 44mm fits just right. Go try one on. If you are looking for an AD, just go to the Panerai site and they should be able to point you in the right direction in your area. Good luck!

when you have normal or small wrist
buy a 40mm
I have normal wrists ,and did try a 44 for
one day , and didn't like it it's to big
for everyday use.
I am very happy with my 40mm
they are only hard to find with some good
discount.

Since you're looking for "thoughts" (I don't want to get yelled at for trying to sway anyone looking for opinions)

Get as 44mm. I have a 6.75" wrist and thought a 40mm was the right size. My salesman even told me to get the 44mm because I would end up getting it anyway. I ignored him and within a few days, I wanted the 44mm.

If you're convinced a 40mm is the right size, go with the 40mm. If you're going back and forth, go with the 44mm because you'll end up wanting it anyway

As someone mentioned here, try it on or even buy one. If you find out the 40mm is too small or 44mm is too big, you always have the option of selling here on the forums. There's no harm done. You just need to find out which one you like most.

I agree, try on a 44mm and a 40mm, see how you like it.
I wouldn't say a 40mm would look bad, some great pics have been posted showing how nice it looks.

Personally, I have a 6.5" wrist and a 44mm.
