Went through the exact same thing a month ago when making the decision on my first Pam----I went with the 112-----and am not looking back---even after owning it for a few weeks and going back to the AD---still love the 112

Simple, simple simple.

Also, couldn't get over the fact that on the 111 the second hand is painted white while the hr and min hands aren't. Couldn't get over that....

i'm sure the OP has made up his mind by now, however, i thought i'd share my thoughts as i just went through the same process.

after much debating, i ended up with a 111. personally i thought it was worth the little extra for the COSC and the sweeping seconds hand. i LOVE the seconds hand and find myself frequently staring at it. the 111 also comes with a brown/calf leather strap, a small detail i appreciated.

frankly i think the 111 and 112 both have nice clean dials and you can't go wrong with either. it's really a matter of personal preference!

I think the white seconds add balance to the face, they are taking place of the number 9 so to me look better white than having the 12,3,6 one colour then having the 9 space another.

The 112 has the clean dial, sandwich and looks great, if you can live without a seconds hand then it's the better buy.
While this is a very old thread it might be usefull to some to know their is a way to hack references like the 111.

True, when under full wind the mainspring is to strong and won't allow one to apply slight back pressure to freeze the seconds hand. The trick is to allow the watch to fully wind down gice it 3 to 5 turns (enough to start the seconds hand) manually hack (backpressure on the crown-very slight) the seconds hand till the desired zero, set the time and fully wind the watch.

This "manual hacking" can be done on many pieces without a hack feature and does no damage at all.

I've done this several times to Mike's advice. Worked like a champ!
