Help me understand LumiNova Service dials

Hello,

I’m interested in learning more about 5513 and 5512 service dials. I’ve always been interested in picking up a ‘functional’ maxi dial 5513 or 5512. This way I get the charm and warmth of a 4 digit, but the lume legibility of a modern watch.

I believe there are matte service dials with maxi LumiNova plots for the 5512, correct? However, most of these dials still have the “ T < “ at the bottom. Did RSC just print a ton of service dials with the obsolete tritium notation at the bottom? If one were to send in a 5512 to RSC today, would they be able to get the matte service dial and hands? (I know, I know, this kills the value)

Do such matte service dials with maxi LumiNova plots exist for the 5513? I know there are LumiNova service dials with the WG surround for the 5513, but wondering if there are maxi service dials without the WG.

What would be the best option to acquire one? Here are my thoughts:

-Find a 5512 with matte service dial (maxi LumiNova) and service hands
-Find a beater 5512 with junk dial and have it serviced by RSC to obtain the service hands and dial
-Same options for 5513?

Your thoughts and clarification would be appreciated.

Rolex keeps in stock the latest iteration of dials.

Since the 5513 came with surrounds, that is the dial on hand. Whether you could connect with an early style without knowing somebody is a real question.

First option would be best. Not sure if two would work and 3 would get the WGS dial.

Just find a 5513 with a service dial. Price will be lower too.
