Sub Date vs No Date. What’s your preference and why ?
Is it the symmetry of the no date or the polarizing bubble that drives you to the no date version.
Or is the quintessential element of a tool watch the need for a date. What’s your reasoning for model number in your watch box ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'll start off with a controversial statement.
There is a "Sub Date", it is a respectable and popular model that everybody can be happy to have in their watch box. There is no such model as a "No Date" ![]()

I prefer the Submariner. The freedom of not setting the date and the aesthetics of the dial aren't interrupted.

The Submariner is -and has always been my preference. The clean symmetry of the dial has always made it for me.
Plenty of other options for date models. ![]() (For those who can’t remember the date...I would think that caring about the time would be secondary.... ![]() |

I have both.....a 14060 & a 16610. There’s beauty in both!

I like both but I wear the ones without date much more. No date is just a nickname btw. Cheers.

Submariner, for the symmetry of the dial. And, I have no need for the date and am not fond of the magnifier. The submariner has the cleanest, no-nonsense aesthetic.

I've always preferred the Sub Date. I really like the cyclops, it's so iconic. It adds some visual interest to the watch, and I use the date all the time.

this is an overbeaten subject and very subjective but I will say this.
I always prefer a date variant as I actually use it.. and looks better to me.. so when I purchased mine, it was a no brainer. in retrospect.. the no date wears very different. A friend has a no date and we compared on how much different they look and wear. It is the only watch I can think where such a small portion changes the watch in such a large way. |

The Submariner. It’s the true icon. The date just gets in the way. Dates are for calendars. If you need a watch to remind you of the date you got other problems.

I own the Sub and the Bluesy (which has the date). I recently wore the Sub exclusively on a one week vacation and frankly the lack of a date for a week annoyed me. At home, I would just rotate to another watch.
It’s occurred to me to trade my Sub for a Sub Date, but that seems like a hassle since I have several Rolexes with the date. |

Comes down to individual preference. I own both. For my first, I’d recommend the Submariner Date. Should you be fortunate enough to go for a second, I’d then get the Submariner.

Sub Date all day every day. The cyclops is a signature feature of any Rolex and having the date is a plus for me.

For me, the Date is a must have complication on a watch, followed by a GMT hand.
When it comes to Rolex specifically, the cyclops is what makes a Rolex Rolex, again this is my humble opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wear both; Prefer the clean aesthetics of a Submariner vs the cluttered dial of a Submariner Date.

If I owned a Sub no date I'd wear it just because if it can't get a date I'd feel sorry for it and try to get it out and about as much as possible. Mainly because it is the epitome of perfection and deserves better.
I don't like the look of the cyclops and wouldn't own a Rolex with it. My only Rolex is a 16600 SD. |

For me personally, I constantly use the date feature as I sign a lot of legal documents and need accurate dates next to signatures. So it's a no contest for practical reasons.

Date for me. Useful complication on a three hander. Don’t like it on a chronograph though.

Sold my Sub Date recently and bought a ND. It's simple to just grab and go.

Submariner: a perfect well balanced dial.
Also if you have other watches in rotation, setting up the date every time you pick it up is a bit annoying. No date watches are easy: grab, quickly set time and you're good to go! Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk |

Sub. So clean and beautiful. If I could only have one watch for the rest of my days - 114060.
