Font used by Patek for it's logo: Monotype Grotesque Regular
[I searched the forum, but it looks like this hasn't been covered before]
Seeing the new PP book with the font so largely printed got me wondering what the font was... A quick Google search provided the answer: Monotype Grotesque Regular. The best links are on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotype_Grotesque https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotype_Imaging http://deltafonts.com/patek-philippe-font/ Monotype Foundry was an American company that developed a machine for typesetting, and Grotesque is one the fonts that was produced there, around 1926. It did not do as well as other Monotype fonts like Futura and Gill Sans, which had a cleaner look. Perhaps someone can identify the first use of this font by PP? J |
