15400 vs 15500
Hi all I am looking at purchasing my grail, the SS Royal Oak with the silver dial. While I know I will ultimately have to make the choice, I value any feedback or opinions from members here. While I love the black dial, silver is by far my favourite. There is currently no silver dial option for the 15500. Do you think I should settle for a black dial 15500 as it is the newer model, or just go with my heart? I am leaning going with my heart, as I think in watches that is always the way to go. On the other hand, should I sit tight for a bit and see if they release a silver dialed 15500?
Cheers

if you can get it for retail you might as well try out a 15500 and see if you like it considering you won't lose anything on reselling. you can always move into the 15400 with minimal loss (if anything). if you're paying grey market prices then don't settle

Thanks resale really isn’t a major factor for me. I question if the newer movement is worth the upgrade? Dial changes are minimal to me as well.

When spending that sort of money why settle for second best. Go for the silver 15400

Agreed always loved the silver the most, so leaning heavily this way!

Agreed. It also helps that the level of craze seen with the OTHER brand has not gone to AP that while there is a premium esp for the discontinued 15400, the price difference between the 2 models you are looking into is not significant.

I don't like the 15500 other than the upgraded movement.

Don’t settle. 15400 silver it is. Try looking for it while they’re still reasonably priced.

If the silver 15400 is what you want then get that. I was never a fan of the silver in real life as I found it too monotone. It certainly has skyrocketed in popularity here since being discoed.
