Phew. They are limited edition, thank goodness! I almost had to crack open my wallet...

My fav. is the one that looks like a WG OF Daytona

They are cool, but I prefer with colored sub dials as it’s true to zeniths look and much less a homage, although still very close to Daytona looks (too close?).

Great watch. I think the success of the initial launches this year enabled the further foray into rose gold and now this.

As to whether this was to go for the Daytona’s jugular? If that were the motive, then I would have guessed it would have happened about 20 years ago.

I have a white chronomaster sport and would have traded in for one of these true pandas. Bummer they’re super limited overseas

I like the Zenith brand but do not see these watches to be be an alternative for a Daytona. I think Zenith stands on it's own and these watches offer a lot but are not the demographic for the typical Rolex Daytona owner. If you can not get the Daytona through an AD, some will buy from the Grey market and the dance goes on with availability and price. I own both the black and white dial SS Daytona-C's, purchased from a Trusted Seller here on TRF, and would consider a Zenith Chronograph as an addition, not an either/or. If it looks like a Daytona, ok, great looking. Many other brands also have black and white chronograph combinations and I like a lot them also. No negativity directed at either Zenith or Rolex because it is what it is.

I never quite understand this.

Different bezel markings, different complication operation, overlapping sub dials, sharper case lines with bevels, date function, pump style pushers, etc.

Maybe it’s just me, but to me it’s a drastically different watch

This video does a good job explaining why people are so quick to associate the Zenith and other white/black chronographs with the Daytona:

To me they are also very different watches.

But to many people not on these forums or who don't pay much attention to details, I think they could be easily confused, at least from across a table, and that would seem to be Zenith's intent in copying so many design elements:
- Main hand design
- Black ceramic bezel
- White dial with dark subdials
- Oyster style bracelet with PCLs

I intentionally made these images small.

My wife, from across a table, can't readily tell if I'm wearing my DSSD (D-Blue), Sub, or GMT.
My guess is that from a similar distance, she, and many other people not on these watch forums, could not differentiate between the Zenith and Daytona.

She doesn't know what dial configurations are available for these or other watches.
My guess is that Zenith deliberately made these watches look very similar to Daytonas--there are so many ways to easily avoid doing so.

That's the "Original" line (which I happen to prefer by a wide margin). There's also the "Revival" line in 37mm.

Hopefully Zenith returns to making other smaller watches, too (like something in the Elite line).

I can see why people like these new zeniths and compare them to Daytonas but for me they don’t do a thing and are totally different than a Daytona on closer look. What turns me off: subdials touch each other, date at 4o’clock, clunkier/angular larger case. I’ll stick w my msrp datyonaC.
