Heartbroken - lost favorite pens

For past couple of years I have been carrying around two fountains pens in a Monthblanc case. I use these pens exclusively, I take them home from work every night and bring them back every morning.

One is a MB 146 EF, the other a Sailor EF. Both nibs have been tweaked by a nibmiester and write perfectly for me.

Unfortunately they turned up missing on Thursday Last time I used them was at work on Wednesday, I have looked all over, home, work, pockets, cars and no luck

On Tuesday I will put flyer on all levels and elevator in parking garage I use because that is the only place I think it could have dropped out of suit coat pocket while taking it on or off when putting it in car. I am hoping a honest person found it and returns it - I will give reward.

Yikes...I feel bad for you 68camaro, I imagine they will show up when you least expect them too. I know what it's like to have items disappear only to show up days, weeks or a few months later. Maybe you just did something different in your routine and they will reveal themselves but in the last p-lace you would look!!!

Good Luck.....Leo

Sorry to hear about that bro.... I know the obsessiveness of caring for these pens.. I myself carry back and forth to work a Visconti case with 3 fountain pens. I've forgotten it places before and I couldn't imagine losing them... Best of luck finding them!

This kills me!

I know what it is like to lose a really significant writing instrument!

Hope you recover them!

Thanks all, I started using a Waterman I had for a longtime but never liked how it wrote, quite scratchy and nowhere smooth and graceful as my MD & Sailor.

Need to trace everywhere you were between Tuesday night, and Thursday morning.

Even if you went into your car, was the case in your pocket, did the case get turned
upside down, check underneath all your car seats. check all the rooms you went and next to all those rooms, kitchens, everywhere your coat may of been, someone may of moved them then moved it back.

Someone could of picked them up put them back into the wrong jacket, or pocket, or
draw.

A majority of people wouldn't even know the value of your pens unless you told them.

You just never know.

Check. I literally turned our house upside down plus all our cars even though I only drove mine. Our garbage man comes Wednesday morning, and I used pen Wednesday at work so on Friday night I emptied garbage can and went through it piece by piece.

I really believe it feel out of coat pocket in parking garage. Tomorrow morning I am putting up flyers with reward on all floors plus stairs and elevator. Hopefully someone found and is willing to return them to me. If this fails I will move on.

Hi Chuck, sorry that no good news so far. How about checking with the cleaner staff,
they may have passed it into the Janitor, and/or if your company has a lost/found
section.

Can't hurt to ask.

When I purchased my pens, I got them engraved with my name on it. So whoever
steals it, will have to change their name legally to my name haha.

I couldn't take anything valuable to work or anywhere else for that matter. Watches at least you can insure, in my country cannot insure a pen they say it's too easy to lose.

That is frustrating. With my job, I technically don't need a pen anyway.

No the engraving won't stop the theft, but if I manage to drop/misplace it and it wasn't
stolen, any good citizen would do the right thing.

Besides unless I would want to sell it (which I never would), it looks nicer to engrave it
with my name anyway.

Terrible news. I've been in that situation. Like you I couldn't rest until I found the Lost pen. I think it made its way under the car seat.

Good luck. Keep us posted

I'm always misplacing things, they usually turn up. I also have a 4 year old that thinks it's funny to hide things, wallets, keys, rings, and anything else that's not locked in the safe.

Oh man that sucks.I have a modest collection consisting of a 90th 149 fountain pen, a starwalker, a 164 ballpoint and 165 pencil that I leave on my desk all week and only bring home on the weekends, except for the 149 that is always with me. I would be devastated if I lost them. OP I sincerely hope they turn up mate.

Pens found after 7 years - see Original Post

UNBELIEVABLE - I FOUND MY PENS I LOST AND POSTED HERE ABOUT IT ON AUGUST 31, 2014.

Here is original post:

Amazingly, here it is 7 years later (yes Almost 7 YEARS TO THE DAY) and I was looking under garage steps for faucet part I dropped, I grabbed my flashlight and while I was looking in recessed corner under step I notice a black case - truth be told I thought it was knife case.

When I looked closer I knew immediately what it was. These two pens were lost 7 years ago, I was heartbroken. To say I am thrilled is an understatement.

Oddly both pens are out of ink and case does not have ink stains, I used these for work and always had ink it them. Tomorrow I will clean out, fill with ink and see how they work. Case and pens in great shape.

Christmas came early in VA:)

What a great discovery !

Sometimes it’s amazing how dropped items can find every single nook and cranny to hide in.

I started at the beginning of the thread, and felt AWFUL for you, then a surprise happy result. Congrats!

P.S. I suspect many of us have been in similar positions. I lost a pen case with three cherished pens a few years ago. It’s still missing. Maybe I should check under the garage steps!
