17000 Oysterquartz battery
Just looking for some guidance; I think I need a LR44 or 357 battery for my 17000 Oysterquartz. Is Silver Oxide preferred over Alkaline?
Also what is the size of the case back opener, I assume there is a specific size? Thanks.

Silver Oxide is always better. It will give good power to the end and then die suddenly.
With Alkaline you can run the risk of "eventual" leakage, which Silver Oxides don't seem to do. I have some Silver Oxides that are very old (unused, and out of date) and still show no signs of leakage. Why risk leakage when you can get a Silver Oxide, even if they are more expensive. (Long time camera owner here, so I know a lot about Alkaline vs Silver Oxide). I cannot assist with your case-back info, though.
