IN DEPTH - Rolex GMT-II Service Video

https://youtu.be/2iuf09zRrBM?si=S1TJri5VkxjCcv8s
This is a great instructive video on this generational TT GMT-II

The beauty of Rolex can only fully be appreciated when you discover what's behind the dial!!

Watch it in 4K for more detailed viewing pleasure.

Its a fascinating and educational video.

From skipping through the video quickly I've already spotted numerous checks that he missed, wrong order of disassembly in several spots, etc. Always cringe when I watch these videos.

Have to agree Bas most stuff on YouTube not always correct and many nothing more than clickbait.

And putting it back?

I always liked his videos but as always, when they become too big it becomes noticeable.

I don't think this video was intended to be a compendious exhibition or instructional video of how to service a watch.

At the same time, there was obvious editing of the video which may have omitted some steps.

I don't believe the person undertaking the service is professionally trained or qualified as a watchmaker. He says that in his channel profile.

So with those qualifications, it is interesting to see that beautiful movement being worked upon.

His videos are entertainment for watch aficionados.

They are not training or how-to videos, so they shouldn't be judged as such.

This. The guy is clearly a hobbyist. It’s better overall that we have people like this inspiring future watchmakers, imho. The art was dying.
