Thoughts on this 5513 Tiffany Dial? Seeking Advise

Been shopping around for a Tiffany-Rolex Sub for awhile now and I was recently offered to buy this particular watch.

I would not call myself an expert in vintage Rolexes at this point in time, but would like to get some advice from all of the experts on the forum. What do you all think of this 5513? Do you all think it is an original Tiffany dial? I want to make sure I am buying something original and that I hopefully won't loose my tail on. I really like the looks of this watch and want to make an educated decision.

If it comes with Tiffany papers it's legit, otherwise not.

Just a thought. Is it not possible to produce fake papers? Some Chinese franken fakers are producing redials with correct fonts and colouring and even experts are being fooled.

Are experts really fooled though? When it comes to Tiffany I would never pay premium without papers as previously mentioned by MonBK.

Since it's possible to produce fake money of course it is possible to print a Tiffany paper but just like banks expose them so will the "experts".

That is good they get exposed. The Chinese vintage Submariner redialers are getting exposed. It is such a shame these quick buck artists are doing what they are doing.

Agreed with papers it is safer. Especially if it is a sale from an old lady who's watch belonged to her late husband. Wouldn't that be a nice find.

Only this, without the proper paperwork, preferably with bill of sale etc, it's to be considered a franken and has zero added value.

I´ve always wondered if not Tiffany keeps copies of their sales receipts ? Would it be so hard for them to have a look and compare serial numbers?

Thanks for the replies, it does not come with papers.

Don't most of these watches not come with papers? Sorry if that is not the most educated question, new to vintage watches

There are a lot of modified dials with added Tiffany logo. Lots of sellers try to catch a piece of the pie and hope for some ignorant buyer willing to pay a premium. Obviously the modded dial watches come without box papers, how convenient ...
It's also worth checking the serial number to find out if all is within the known Tiffany range.
Not having the correct papers does not automatically mean these are not correct, some people throw those away, but there is no way you can ever prove it.

If you are really set on buying a correct complete set expect to pay top dollar and source through well known vintage dealers. Forget about anything else, you will find it very hard to resell a possible modded watch in the future.
