Yep, can be laser welded. Never had it done myself but I had a very similar gouge on an explorer 2 lug and was told fine to repair. How did yours occur and how many times did you have to look again with disbelief?

I’m still in dis belief it fell off my bathroom sink where it was sitting on a shirt I grabbed the shirt forgetting the watch was on it and it went airborne and landed on marble floor about 3-4 feet at most I have no idea how that kind of a fall would make that gash

Wow, sorry to hear it..... it always seems to be these most obscure and dull events that do the worst. The way the hulk prices are going I'm sure you're still in the black even with the damage.,

Wow, how did that happen? lol. If you're normally rough on your watches, it really wouldn't be worth a repair.

I never had it done in the end, but the firm was in the UK and were very helpful when I was considering my options. Watchworks in Bristol.

Laser welding is an option, but it will loose its value. Collectors and buyers hates laser welded watches... Leave it.

Actually you may be surprised... It's more valuable with a dent unpolished than it is "welded".

And how would you be able to tell if a watch was laser welded ?
Even Rolex does it

As if anyone would be able to tell it was laser welded.

Like what are you even talking about.
If OP were to sell the watch right now they'd point out the damage for a discount, then get the fix done by themselves and sell it for more.

Rolex SS is proprietary. So the weld won't and can't match the original steel which means that it won't polish exactly the same way, reflect the same way and when the light hit, the refraction/scattering won't be the same either.

We've performed this procedure hundreds of times and we haven't had a single complaint and believe me customers treat their watches like babies so there's no way they wouldn't be able to tell.

Contact LAWW, Los Angeles Watch Works, it’s an easy fix.

Not to rub salt in the wound but your bezel as well as the insert have been damaged too.

After a drop like that I'd like to see the hairspring of your watch, I bet it is slightly bent out of place (easy fix).

Definitely hurts to see but being a dive watch it adds a bit of character. Just tell everyone that you were doing some underwater demolition setup a hit it on an ordinance.

I stand corrected

I’d probably end up sending it off to LAWW if it were me. It’s going to bug you every time that you look at it.
If that’s your decision I’m sure that all here would love to see the after pics.
