2018 Audi A4

I test drove a Volvo XC60 today and I was even more impressed than the Audi. 2.0 T 250 bhp.
12” central screen. Digital dials (Audi is optional). Leather electric seats.

Funny I was just looking at them. Great looking car. Personally love the A6.

Love the new clean look and design language going on with the few key automakers.

I test drove the Volvo S60 yesterday. It is a sedan. I am not a fan of SUVs, unlike the rest of the country. The dealer noted that the dated info screen would be updated in the 2019 model. The car was nice, but the driving dynamics of the Audi A4 was in another league entirely.

Audi has come a long way in the past 10 years. I still hate the A7 with a passion, but the A4/6/8s look really nice.

I have a 2013 A4, best car I've ever owned. Have my eyes on an A5 at the moment.

I test drove an A4 a few months back. Lots of fun, they significantly increased the 'fun' in that car. Drives more like a BMW than a Cadillac.

Not much of an Audi fan but I saw the new A4 the other day and it looked pretty sweet. Great looking car, definitely peaked my interest.

Depending upon how old your A6 is, the new A4 is very similar in size to the A6 of a few years ago.

Had an 2003 A4 manual shift with a 1.8 Turbo, fantastic car, no problems whatsoever. The later ones with the 2.0 Turbo were nothing but headaches, Audi replaced lots of those engines. Then I got an Allroad 2.7 Turbo. FANTASTIC car but required lots of maintenance due to fluid leaks and air suspension issues. Fantastic car though. My latest is a 2009 A6, 3.0 Turbo. Great car. Remember whatever Audi you get, keep meticulous records, and if it's a turbo, get the oil changed at least every 5,000 miles with fully synthetic oil. Back to the new A4, if they have the engine issues sorted out with the 2.0
engine, it looks like a winner.

BIG Audi fan here.

My wife drives a 2018 A6. My son, a 2015 A3. We have had a prior A6, an A5 and an A4.
The A5's are very pricey right now but awesome. The A4's are priced to move in my area. I am myself looking at the Q3 or Q5. Audi has upped their game big time. The A4 is a really attractive buy right now. Super car at a reasonable price point. Zero problems on any of the above.

I like Audi a lot, as I previously owned a 2012 A4 Avant and most recently a 2015 A6.

I traded the A6 a few months ago for a 2018 BMW X5. My reason for leaving Audi - aside from wanting a bigger vehicle is that I gradually found the design (inside and out) to be a bit boring and bland, and wanted a change. Otherwise, I think Audi makes great cars - aside from an occasional electrical “gremlin” the cars I owned were hassle free.

I currently own a 2017 S4 and 2017 Q7. I've owned several A4's (3 sedans and 1 avant) in the past.

If I drove anything else it would be a 911.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the A4!

I usually buy. However, I am considering leasing for fear of expensive post-warranty expenses. I have had 2 Honda Accords for 10 years each. No repairs other than regular maintenance.

But my current Accord is squeaking and creaking and I am ready to enter the modern era of dashboard electronics.

I’ve always wanted an Audi they drive amazing. Have driven my friends when he gets too drunk lol. But he always complains about maintenance and repairs so that has always been a downside.

Volvo rocks right now. It is one of the most innovative brand, I love all their models and we are planning to buy one next time we buy a car, probably next year. Love the design, minimalist , zen feel and very high quality workmanship. I used to like Audi, but not so much anymore.

Spot on the money. 1.8 turbos were great. The Audi 2.0 turbo was a nightmare. Massive oil consumption issues. Audi did cover some of them under warranty but not all of them. We’ve replaced or rebuilt a bunch of them. We quit selling used A4’s with that particular engine. Very fun car to drive!

Hopefully, the current 2.0 turbo has evolved past these issues. This is why I am considering my first lease, so I can bail if things get dicey.

I've got an A3. I love the way I can throw it around. If you don't need the room, you might want to consider the loaded A3 instead. (I love the circular vents and it's simple interior.) Cars are so emotional, so if you like the A4.. pull that trigger.
I wouldn't use past stories about Audi WRT turbo's etc and that appears to be behind them.

Close to pulling trigger

I expect to buy an Audi A4 this week.

I tried the Infiniti Q50, Volvo S60 also, and the Audi was in its own league for handling and graphics.

I am leaning white outside, beige interior. I find the lighter colors happier. I have a black interior, so no go. My current car is silver, so a new color works.

The S versions are that much more dynamic and sporty to drive. Amazing performance and stability. Had an S4 for 3 years and an SQ5 now. Puts fun into driving for sure.

Yep, among all other gizmos, the S5 had a massaging seat.. I'm serious!
It was a convertible that I test drove.
I was a BMW type of person, I scratched 650 off the list after test driving the A7. Really loved that one, but didn't want to go for the last year production of the model.

All great cars!

I have a 2018 A3. It’s a great car! I can’t imagine the A4 not being great. I had a 2010 A4, that had the oil consumption issue, but besides that it was my favorite car I’ve had. My current A3 and my previous A4 both drive comfortably, handle well, they’re quick, and they’re stylish. My one recommendation is to definitely buy the Quattro model.

I have the 2017 A4 but I'm looking at switching things up a little by getting the 2018 Mercedes E300. I just can't stop fantasizing about the E300 for now, I hope I don't regret this in the long run
