Alligator Strap issue

So the screw access flaps on the alligator strap is lifting as you can see. This a common issue?

Granted this has been my go to watch, it just looks bad. Thinking about replacing it with another one or go bracelet. Thoughts?

[edit] took a better pic.

Try rubber. Works great and doesn’t show wear!

Same happened to mine..I have the same watch. Had a dispute with AP at my home country over it's durability.

I have given up on AP leather straps..A Big Disappointment..for this price range.
Wearing mine on rubber strap now.

As per above - their rubber straps are incredible.

Have you tried a tiny dot of leather glue to close the edges down again if the rest is in good condition?

Would you mind sharing more photos of your rubber? I went to look at the all gold. It’s just not pretty since our dial is already gold.

Man I love the oem strap. Bummer to hear it’s will probably still happen with a new strap.

Here's mine on black rubber strap.
I actually also tried it on the gold bracelet..but my wrist is too small for a comfortable fit.

Too costly to give the original leather strap a 2nd chance.

You have any pics at more of an angle? and any flat on the table? I have no idea what their rubber looks like.

As for the gold, I don't see the flow. There's no more contrast. It's gold everywhere lol

As other mentioned it seems you either get a new strap or a rubber one. Or if you got the $$$ the bracelet.

I would say go for an AP band or similar aftermarket, its a better affordable option for watches worn more often

Me too, had this on the lighter ROC so it's an endemic problem with AP leather, rubber is the way to go.

Have a look at pics of the old RG Rubberclad, it works well.

How long did the strap last before it started to come apart?

My oem strap really disintegrated two weeks ago. Got a new from AP Clearwater. Went to my local AD to swap. Of course ended up buying two watches. Ugh

New strap feels amazing on my 3 year old watch. So stiff. So nice.
