Rolex Explorer 14270 dial

Dear Experts,

I am taken with a 14270 (1999 year) and the dealer tells me the dial showing Swiss only is a rare thing. To quote:

"Swiss" at the bottom, and has become known as the 'Swiss only' version. In earlier models there was "T-Swiss - T<25" and later dials had "Swiss Made". So any Rolex model with a dial variation that only lasted 1 year is rare".

Is the dealer correct and if yes, does the rarity of the dial effect the value of the watch?

All comments are welcome. Thank you.

Hello everyone,
I have not had a single reply to my question which is odd . Is this because I asked a silly question?
Regards
Mike

I am far from an expert. I did a search on Chrono24 for a 1999 Rolex 14270. There were several SWISS only dials in the 4K range and a few full sets in the 5k range. The prices would not make me consider this model/year/dial to be rare. Good luck with your purchase.

Shouldnt affect value at all. Its a great watch!

All boils down to what you want: functional lume or the potential for tritium markers to turn creamy.
