Is Bluesy a better boating watch than a yachtmaster???

Is it just me or does the two tone blue sub seem like a better fit for the ocean than a yachtmaster???
Granting that the YM2 is more useful to a man or women who competes in regattas.
But as a boating guy who doesn't just race a sailboat, I think Bluesy is the perfect fit.

I plan on hitting the northeast canyons this summer in my two tone sub (LN). Can’t wait for the first tuna of the season. Just a straight offshore fisherman here - no sailboats

I think any Rolex (besides Cellini) is a great boating watch!

I think the colors of this Sub compliment the outdoors, sky and sea with all the blue tones. It's my choice for a boating trip.

The full yellow gold blue is a much better boating watch.

They're all good, but obviously the bluesy is better suited for diving.

The YM is more comfortable (rounded case edges, curvy lugs) so theoretically could be worn more hours at sea in any weather condition before it begins to hurt your wrist.

Unless of course you need to time the start of a regata.

As a bluesy owner of 16 plus years, I am biased towards it. But both yachmaster and sub would make a great companion around any body of water.

Growing up summering in Wildwood NJ, Uncle Porter, Trapster, Chad and I would muse frequently over this age old issue.

Any modern Rolex without a leather strap would be fine for boating. YM or Sub fashion wise… all good

We are long time summer in the same South Jersey area mainly in Cape May. I found a Panerai on strap works just as well as my Rolex models maybe even better with nightly boardwalk strolling.

OP: On my fish/ski boat I prefer my Panerai Carbotech because it’s is tougher and won’t show minor marks as I am doing everything. On bigger boats/yachts than my Rolex makes a better companion as I am a passenger.

With its soft edges the original YM is quite sufficient. It slips easily under a cuff and doesn’t catch ropes.

Unless you're racing in a regatta, pretty much anything's going to be a better boating watch.

I'm probably in a minority for saying this but to me the YM is a better watch in all respects bar the theoretical water resistance and I happen to own a Bluesy which I also love.

Bluesy has a ceramic bezel vs relatively soft/catchable bezel of YM.

One always bangs their wrist on a boat.

So, I agree Bluesy (or any ceramic sub) is better boat watch.

With Chad in the mix I think you mean Avalon

That reminds me, I need to book the rental

I think those are characters from Wedding Crashers. I never did any boating in Wildwood. But growing up in southwest Philly I did go under the fire plug quite often as one of my best friend's father's was a fireman and had a wrench. For that, my Swatch was most appropriate.
