Some posters say that wait lists are reset to zero when a new model is released. Chance to get our names down near the top of the List

They have 37mm 40mm 42 mmYM. Maybe they end up with 40 and 42mm Daytona. Highly unlikely but there is some precedent.

Also, 36, 41(39.x) Datejusts, 36 and 40 Day Dates, several OP sizes. Not completely crazy notion. I do think a 40 and 41 Daytona would be too close, but 38 and true 40, or 40 and 42 could easily be a thing.

So, 41 Daytona REPLACING the current line, or SUPPLEMENTING the current line?

So much anxiety in this thread LOL . I bet if it moves to 41, the base case will be current OP case, as they did with new AK (adding crown guard and sharp edges).

I think they'll either add a 42mm or replace the current one with a 41mm.

A Daytona Date would be really cool

Another Rolex to add to my 'cannot obtain' list

I’ve come full circle. I don’t want them to change anything, hate changing the size, hated the idea of a date. Now i think i could use a date… i need more therapy apparently .

I suspect changes to the Daytona will be minor - when do Rolex every change an iconic design apart from materials, dials and a couple of mm here and there

Any major change will affect the popularity and iconic status of the Daytona. Things like date, bigger size, dial color, etc. In my opinion just a movement upgrade, and minimal visual changes if any.

41mm Daytona. That's a size increase to 40.01 mm lol
Plus new movement.
Submariner, new bezel or dial colours or both.
New Coke GMT in white gold only for a few years.

Nothing wrong with the existing Daytona. Wish they wouldn’t change a good thing that’s not broke.

Plus new movement.
How could they improve upon the 4130? It has 70 hr power reserve and it’s a workhorse, column wheel.

Personally, I hope they leave this movement as is as it’s already one of the best chronograph movements out there

The lugs, the sub dial alignment, legibility, maybe the size (debatable) - fix these

I think there will be a change but nothing drastic, just a minor movement upgrade and subtle dial changes. Just look what they did with the Explorer 2, very minor changes.

I think the question is will this happen across the whole Daytona range all at the same time or just start with the full precious metal line.

I can see it going to 41 and slightly shorter lugs to accommodate smaller wrists. A new movement is a given.

Wonder if they’re going to make it “chronergy” as well

This is my prediction. The current Daytona isn’t even 40mm (if I remember correctly it comes in a little under 39mm) which is why it wears so small and why I’m not personally fond of mine.

At 42mm, the Daytona would probably instantly become one of my favorite models. It’s a beautiful watch but it would benefit from enhanced presence, and the rest of the lineup has been creeping up in size so there is a precedent for a “jumbo” model.

That’ll be cool but unlikely. Gem set Daytonas announced last year are still just rolling out to ADs, seems like a slap to obsolete $200k watches just like that. If this were true I think they would’ve held back on updating YG and WG Rainbow for the new caliber.

The subdials position will change due to this new caliber arrangement.

I don’t know what indexes will look like, but I really hope they revert to sharper one likes on the zenith era.

IMO discontinuing the watch would make the old one worth more ?

Its too early in the current models production run to change the Daytona, especially as the demand is so high.
