Watches and Wonders Rolex 2023 Predictions

It is just a little more than a month til we get to W&W2023. My AD’s been asking me to feel free to reach out to him to place my wish list from the upcoming 2023 Rolex releases. He has his guesses but what are yours? Jubilee bracelet option for the only GMTII without this option - root beer? Will the use of titanium expand? Etc.

Steel YM42 on oysterflex or bracelet with a green dial.

New version of the YM II.

Glidelock on GMT
Jubilee option Rootbeer

Still wishing for a Sub with red. Red bezel or red dial. I would even be happy with red lettering and seconds hand.

Please stop. They can’t even make enough of what they released 4-7years ago.

Reverse Cermit Submariner (green dial black bezel) anniversary model.

A lot of changes/updates to Daytonas - Bigger size, true Panda/reverse Panda dials for the SS models, updated movement. RG option for the TT Daytona.

I'm predicting a lot of new Tudor GMT models, including a Coke bezel, but no changes to Rolex's GMT lineup.

The 31mm Datejust is currently available in solid Everose gold. I don't know that I'd consider a $32,000 watch to be "entry level," though.

More unobtainium I would assume.

I think a high percentage of Rolex owners would probably prefer no new models (ok maybe one) and a new production capability to improve their manufacturing!

Maybe some new flipper foolproof system against AD's and buyers...or something to let us non-whales get a snuff at something!

Snide aside, I don't really see much more than a few new dials on OP to replace the ones they discontinued. Probably the end of Milgauss and a newer chronograph movement or different Daytona models.

Totally agree! But there is also another mechanism:
many of us are in some list for some watch,
and we do not want to be in a list that risk to be closed!
my example: I'm waiting for a blue SS Sky-Dweller,
I hope it will not discontinued!

why don't rolex release a new daytona made of carbon fiber, as nowadays race car bodies are all carbon fiber.

A new or updated Daytona. A color variation on the Submariner and a Titanium Diver on a strap. Also a Red/Black GMT.

On the one hand, I think the DJ31 is a different story; it also comes on a President bracelet, leading to the conclusion that this is meant as a 31mm alternative to the DD (which would be too difficult to make in a 31mm version).

However, solid PM DJ36 was offered not long ago, albeit on leather strap. So that's an option (though perhaps OF this time around?). I also seem to recall that it wasn't thaaaaaaat long ago one could get a gold DJ36 on a gold Jubilee, too. Don't recall seeing them very often, but there are a handful of six-digits on C24 with that configuration.

I do not foresee a DJ41, though, as I doubt Rolex would make a gold DJ that's theoretically larger than its flagship DD.

As an aside, I think that the hollow link gold five-digit DJ was the last rivet bracelet produced by Rolex (but I could be wrong on that).

To all of those predicting a new Daytona: Wouldn't this be just about the least opportune time, from a business perspective, to replace the most sought-after watch in the range? Especially with hype cooling a bit, and the (potential) need to generate excitement elsewhere in the lineup.

I realize that these things are planned well in advance but it seems that it would make more sense to introduce a new Daytona at a time when the company needs the boost it would get from such.

I wish they bring back the 39mm OP. I would love a mint green, or blue dial, without the green on the dial. I’m not fond of the current 41mm OP. Yes, I know it’s 39.5. It just doesn’t do it for me.
