Thoughts on Tattoos?

I know many people have many thoughts and opinions on tattoos. I personally at this point do not have any, not due to anything except not being able to find something that I feel I would want to live with, for good.

My brother is a licensed tattoo artist and has on multiple occasions, offered his services at no cost for me, for whatever I wanted... single piece, sleeve, back piece, whatever. I have never been a fan of flash pieces, because they seem so generic and a huge number of people may have the same image. I would go custom if I decide to.

I once saw a comedian who was talking about tattoos and how they once indicated that someone had been around the world, and now they indicate you went to the mall. That has kind of stuck with me, for what it's worth. So I just have a couple of questions for those who are inked or intend to be.

1) What is your personal motivation?
2) How did you decide on your piece?
3) Have you ever regretted your choice?
