Marcel, of the Toronto Hunt Club, attempted to make the Guinness Book of World Records in Champagne Sabrage, at the time it was 40 bottles in one minute, he made it to 42 and got it, but then the Swiss took it at 47. He was using a fine Brut Victoire champagne that was donated for the event.

I've seen Marcel take the heads off multiple bottles at the club, truly a spectacular feat.

Great video, thanks for posting.

I saw this done at a vineyard in south Africa. It was pretty cool. What made it more special was the guy was wearing an AP. (as I was at the time). My wife thought I was a loser for mentioning it (but it was fine for her to want to talk about louboutins and Celine bags with another lady - sometimes my wife catches me just lovingly staring at my AP dial/bracelet and shakes her head saying its just a watch. The struggle is real for some of us married men!!!)

Cannot say I understand the allure of having the top of my bottle cracked with a small sword lol but I would give it a try if drunk with a machete out by the pool I guess. Break out the Andre!

Not sure I get this, I’d be worried about little splinters of glass ending up in my DP rose.
