Got offered a old Pepsi gmt for $9000

A local jewel here is offering a GMT 1989 Pepsi for $9200 . No box or papers though.

If pass the check from the AD , is it a good buy now or no way?

Thanks

Scroll down to where it says “go advanced” click that, then go to manage attachments, click again and see if your phone photos are within the pic size guidelines

Based on how new that reference still is - and the market ‘rate’ — I would be quite inquisitive about the whereabouts of box and paperwork....and overall provenance

Just my .02

Really? You don't see box and papers 16700s often and I wouldn't call a watch from 1989 new.

Whoops completely missed the date. Thought it was a newer ceramic.

All good there though.

Frankly OP - that looks like a very nice watch. The price is within range and, people put wayyyy too much emphasis on box (100 bucks ebay) + papers (most people didn’t care 20 years ago)

I'd try to get a few hundred bucks off of it and then I'd consider. Does look like a solid watch though.

Does look a little like it, but I'd like to see some better pictures.

Looks pretty good, IMO. The hands are later luminova service parts and don’t quite match the original tritium dial. Nice creamy dial!! Ask for a few hundred discount. If it were me, I see 2 choices if you buy the watch:

1) I would want the hands to match the tritium dial. I would have colored hands put on by a reputable watchmaker, so the hands match the dial..... Or

2) I would change out the existing tritium dial for lumoniva so it matches the existing luminova hands - and both dial and hands would be luminova replacements. (but in that case SAVE THE DIAL. Do not let a Rolex AD do the dial swap or you will not get the original tritium dial back.)

I like to stay correct, most of the time, so I would put on colored hands to match the nice creamy tritium dial that is currently in the watch (and save the luminova hands).

Some folks would be happy to wear it as is. I am a little OCD and would want the dial and hands to match.

Good luck!

Offer $8200 and cite that service will be needed, but band looks great except for the clasp.

The clasp only needs cleaning, I’m planning to get it for $8000 and use it for a year and maybe selling it.
This will help with the wait of the new Batman lol

Do the hands glow? Even if they were definitely replaced and as long as everything else checks out $8000 is a good price.

I’d keep the dial and find some matching hands.

Also looks like the spring bar is showing on the bottom right lug.

That is tough because it could be a classic, and down the line that those papers and box could add thousands.

If you can get it for 8, don’t think twice. You’ll regret it.

Both lugs on the crown side are very thin, the hands and possibly the insert changed.

Walk away

Lugs look okay to me. What looks over polished are the crown guards. I think for 8 Gs you’d be getting a reasonable deal. Not the deal of the century but pretty decent.
