looking at 2nd rolex, any thoughts?

(first post)

I got my first Rolex about a year ago, SS Daytona, blackface (got lucky when the local dealer (AD?) had one come in while I was asking about the wait-list)

I LOVE my Daytona, but I've got the urge to buy a second watch now... I was thinking a two-tone date just (something more jewelry oriented, as the SS Daytona sometimes doesn't fit the occassion as much). But when I got to the local store they had the datejustII and I really like the look of that. I'm not sure that I'm getting the desired effect with the band as I thinking something with a jubilee band would be better...

Am I crazy? Also, been looking for reviews of the datejust II without much luck... anything I should know before I purchase? Any advice would be welcome... thanks

(I'll post pic's of my watch/es shortly)

what took u so long between the rolexes ?

if u r looking for ultra classy bracelet, go with the jubi.

dont get me wrong, i love the oyster bracelet on my DJ ii

but the super jubi on my dj is much dressier !

guess thats why i have both, too.

how about a daydate II ?

Congrats on your first post and welome.

Wanting that second Rolex is a sure sign that you've got the watch bug so don't be surprised when after the second one you want a third and fourth and fifth and so on and so on and so on.......well you get the idea.

Now a question for you; are you ok with your dress/bling watch having a bigger case than your sport chrono?

Date Justs and Day Dates bigger than Subs and Daytonas just doesn't seem right to me. Kind of like cats and dogs living together.

Best,
Mike

When you have a Daytona and a 36 mil Datejust you pretty much have all your bases covered for casual and dress. The new datejust 2 is a very sharp watch but I feel is to big for dress but that is just my opinion. Good luck on your decision

I highly recommend the 36mm DJ with jubilee bracelet. There are so many combos that you're bound to find one you like and it's SO classic and comfy!

my advice is to try both the 36mm and 41mm and see it for yourself.

If you are used to a 40mm watch, a 36mm watch maybe too small for you.

Trust me the 41mm DJII is not bigger than a 40mm rolex sports watch.
