DJ SS slate grey, green Romans on Jubilee?

I am currently on the wait list for a black Skydweller, but am questioning this having seen this pic of a SS Datejust - with green romans on a slate dial with the Jubilee.

I already have a BLNR as my only watch and only want one more, that is a bit more dressy and not as 'obvious' as a Sub/GMT etc.
But I've never tried a Skydweller on and am concerned it may also be a bit big?

I know it's all down to personal choice, but would just be keen to hear opinions from those with more knowledge on these things.

I also really like the look of this DJ as it's quite unusual and assume it may be a quite rare combination?

Any thoughts please?

I love this dial. I am in the market to buy this exact same watch.

Don't buy this one though - there is a scratch on the dial between the 32 and 33 minute marker and its quite long.

That is an attractive watch. I tried it on, but do not own. I formerly owned this watch as a DJ2 in two tone, but did not bond , traded it for a DJ2 in blue. Try the DJ41 in blue, an obvious choice.

The skydweller is way more popular. The slate DJ with green Roman is a beautiful watch as well
1- wrist size
2- how much you need the GMT function
3- price difference (about $6K)
4- jubilee or not

Are all things to consider and think about
Finally you can try a TT or All gold skyD at the AD to get an idea about the size comparison
Best of luck!

If you have a BLNR, the Skydweller is also a GMT watch. The DJ41 can go dressy or sporty and it is somewhat different from your BLNR.

Thanks for replies so far.

The pic isn't the actual watch I would be after, its just the picture that got me interested.
It is the 41 I am interested in btw.

I wasn't too fussed about the Jubilee till the Pepsi came out, but its really grown on me now. Also make a change from my BLNR Oyster bracelet.

With regard colour......I do really like the blue DJ 41, but have got a thing for green at the moment.
Someone posted an olive dial Day Date (I think?) on here which I thought was really beautiful.....and it got me thinking something green would be nice.
My first Rolex was a Z serial 50th LV Sub, which got stolen and I really miss, so something green just appeals.

The price saving is useful, but appreciate the SD may be a better investment. But I am buying to keep - going from being a 1 watch man to a 2 watch man. Give the BLNR some time off.

I have a blnr and have been thinking of adding a DateJust 41 too... the Blue dial with batons looks classic and better long term especially practically, but this slate dial does look unusual and different.

Love this combo, I've got 1 Datejust 36mm with Roman Numerals, my next one will also have Roman Numerals.

Considering this in TT as my next purchase - I need a TT to throw in the mix and I want a jubilee/fluted bezel combo.

I think you should wait for the skydweller. It's in a whole different level than a dj. Most important it's your first choice !

I very much like that dial and the jubilee bracelet is more comfortable then the oyster bracelet in my opinion and it looks amazing if you get one with a hidden clasp.

I would go for this. However the sky-dweller looks great too in my opinion and it got the GMT-function. The Sky-Dweller is more or less a more advanced Datejust. So if you want that extra complication, I would wait for the Sky-Dweller. If you have no use for it I would go Datejust with jubilee bracelet.

At first I was sold on this one only in jubilee with fluted bezel but man, the smooth bezel and oyster looks awesome

O thanks, I tried hard to go for the jubilee being all my others are on oyster but I just couldn't do it. I like the oyster too much. It's so sleek looking to me and the bezel matches it perfectly, I think

Uh, no...not even close. The DJ has been a top seller for years and an icon of the brand.

Tough call between the roman or the blue dial but will vote fluted bezel and jubilee all the way. Dresses both up and down. Now, that dial choice, hmmm.

I think it balances the white date-wheel at 3 o'clock.

I thought the same at first on the 9 stick but it does give character and balances the dial well with the date. Only lume on the dial besides the hands. I ordered mine, paid in full it took 21 days to arrive.

The SkyD will definitely wear larger than the DJ. Would be best to try them on somewhere before really deciding, but that DJ looks good, like that dial a lot!

Tried on a sky d today. OMG does this watch have presence. It wears smaller than my dJii.
Has a nice thickness to the case. And looks a stunner.
