New movements in older models?
I was just taking a look at davidsw’s site and saw the black dialed deepsea with the new movement in it. Does that mean the older gmts (blnr, LN, 2tone LN) are getting the same treatment?

No, that is most likely the new version of the DSSD.
I have a feeling the others will be relaunched with new movement, just like the DS. |

Also does the 70 hour power reserve really make that much of a difference to the 48 hr power reserve?

I think the added power reserve is a real bonus if you are rotating more than 2 watches, get's you an extra day - less resetting time and date.

Yeah makes sense. I don't rotate very often (maybe every few weeks) so I guess the extra power reserve isn't as meaningful?

A relaunch of existing models with the new movement seems almost inevitable, at least for the "base" models. For me, the big point of curiosity on the GMTs is whether the slightly-different case on the Pepsi will appear elsewhere with the jubilee option. However, I imagine the next big push from Rolex will be a major Sub revision with the new movement in the next year or two.
The new movement is a nice bonus, but I personally wouldn't factor it into any of my buying decisions. If I wore one watch all week and a different watch on the weekend, though, the longer PR would be a pretty big benefit -- gets you through to Monday without stopping. |

If your watch doesn't have more then date calendar complication, it's not that much of a difference IMO. But it's nice to have bigger PR. For example, it's a little bit of a pain to set GMT hour hand on my BLNR every time the watch stopped.
