Maybe I looks like Jesus but I'm not a priest.

Here is some info about the laserlogo I have put together.

How can the crown be behind the secondhand? I will say the secondhand is behind the crown.

If viewed head-on they’re all straight, at certain angles they’re all crooked. The stars are lasered in at varying heights in the sapphire and at varying angles, to make duplication and counterfeiting that much harder.

HAHAHA! I do the same thing almost every night when I go to bed. Part of my bedtime ritual has always been charging the lume. I will spend 60 seconds or more just watching the seconds go by before I go to sleep.

I thought UV light might help show the crown. I didn't help much.

Hahaha.
You did not!

Look, Jocke was right.
Through your microscope I can discern the star shape laser etch.

Cheers!

A little pro tip for those of you trying to get a decent shot. It’s really hard to capture the etched coronet on its own. However if you let the sapphire crystal work with you not against you it’s a lot easier to capture.

A little trick I use is a flashlight. I shine the flashlight downward about 2 inches above the crystal surface right at the 12 o’clock marker. The crystal absorbs the light and distributes it throughout the rest of the crystal. It acts like one of those little crystal sculptures you buy at the mall that sit on the little rotating mirror with lights shining up into the sculpture. The crystal absorbs the light and reflects it out bringing out any little variance in the crystal. The etched coronet also absorbs the light and stands out almost like it’s in 3D.

If you set up your shot the right way, you can get some really cool pictures. Using different color lights can also amplify the affect.

Here’s a visual of what the setup looks like using my Explorer II. You can see the light being absorbed by the crystal and the coronet clearly stand out even though this isn’t a closeup picture.

When you set up your shot and have a decent macro lens handy, you get something like this, taken using my Ceramic Sub.

Tough catching this in crummy office lighting and on the white dial. Easiest to see when you're looking at it over the black subdial...apologies for the crummy iPhone photos!

Photo of my YMII etched crown. It's rather crummy but, taken on dinner table with no special lighting and a simple stand to hold the, folding plastic, case of eye-loupe mentioned below. Used a crude iPhone 6 in conjunction with a separate external Bausch & Lomb (4X 5X 9X eye-loupe) magnifier.

That is visually intriguing! Try it on a different angle on extreme / macro shot.

The LEC arrived in 2001/2002 on one or two models and were rolled out to all models by 2004 IIRC.

For instance, my A serial 1999/2000 Rolex does not have the LEC, bu my 2007 Submariner does.

Also, if I took my A serial Rolex in and the sapphire was replaced, I would see a LEC with an, "S" at the bottom of the Coronet to denote a "Service (replacement)" crystal.
