I didn’t think I’d care about a lume, but turns out, I do. :)

Bremont Alt1-ZT-BK. I love how Bremont have lumed the chrono hands and the roto-click chapter ring 0/24 marker. I just wish I’d started the chrono when I took this photo (the seconds hand hides the upper sub-dial).

The "lume" on my 16800 crapped the bed after about 10 yrs. So for the last 23 years I've convinced myself that the "patina" makes up for knowing what time it is in the dark. Since a new dial would be a sacrilege I have to rely on my "Indiglo" if I know in advance I'll need to check the time in the dark.

In my next life, I'll skip the drama of the Rolex, and go with a tritium Ball, etc.

I'm not sure how a Ball would improve the situation any, since their tritium has the same half life as Rolex's tritium. Unless you are planning on changing out the tubes when the time comes. At least with Chromalight, the lume doesn't degrade the way tritium-based lumes do.

Sadly I don't dive with it. Not yet anyways. Maybe this November on vacation.

I have to say, you are one of favorite persons. My husband and I still chat about you. When I bought my very first Rolex ( now mind you, I don’t know all the model numbers that y’all do) you pointed out that my sapphire crystal was chipped when I first bought it. I have black faced datejust II with diamond markers with the rose gold. Without your astute eye pointing out the pre-existing chip, I’d still have a flawed watch. Not sure if you remember, but I named her Queen Hedvig :)
Thank you for being so nice and just a good human.

So... I’ve read your post three times and from what I’ve gathered is that current watch’s lume has faded and your next watch will be something different ... my husband is the watch guru. He sometimes knows more than the salesperson. I go by pretty, not pretty ;)
