16014 DJ dial replacement. help a newbie

Hi guys,

Quite recently I purchased my first Rolex (16014) 1979 with original box & papers to add to my little collection of watches. It has an interesting brown dial, though the vintage watch shop i purchased it from calls it slate grey and indeed there are time when it does look 'grey-ish'

I'm 45 and my night vision is not the best anymore. I have a hell of a time trying to read the time at night because the batons, dial etc all blend in together!

What I need is a black DJ dial (original of course) I'm skeptical about buying something like this from ebay. Any good links to reputable sites?

Any help appreciated

Why not send it to RSC? A black dial is available for replacement.

Did this one come from BVW's? If so, go back to them & ask them if they can source a dial for you. If you go to a Rolex Service Centre, they will probably hit you for a service & polish too.

That's right. It came from BVW's
I might ask Ronnie at BVW then. Rolex would be too steep as I'm trying to keep within a budget as it's sometimes scary to explain such purchases to my fiancee!
