Looks like fake boxes, high-end but still fake.

website of his company was registered under a different name than his,he said he got the watch from his father, but he doesnt have the same name of his father
also his email adress is linked to an other name on facebook. No doubt this was a sophisticated scam with a website.....and the engraved case to make it look real. |

X2 . I saw the listing and there was no evidence to conclude that the watch was fake or there might have been a scam.
The second husband of my mother has been more of a father to me then my natural father . Needles to say that they didn't share the same name . Not saying that there was no scam , as I have no way of knowing this . At the other hand we must give the person the benefit of doubt before having his listing pulled on Ebay when there is no strong evidence that the watch is fake or a scam in the making . Just my way of looking at it . If the OP did some back ground checks and he found enough things to make him suspect that there could be a scam , he was right to walk away . Not sure a suspicion created by some incoherences warrants the right to have that listing pulled . Again , I don't want to play the devils advocate , but sometimes we need some more proof before we can cry foul . The watch looked OK to me , with or without engraving . The OP claims the engraving to be part of the ploy , when the seller would considerably reduce his chances to sell the watch because of it , and therefor elevates it to the most sophisticated scam ever ? Since when does a scam have to be sophisticated to be successful ? Look at Madoff .. nothing more vulgar and simple then the Ponzi scheme . |
