Some 5513 love..

I'm in the middle of moving house and of course have to start getting things organized. I'm not going to say I stumbled upon this watch but I bought it about 10 years ago and after a short romance it went into the watch case and hasn't seen any wrist time since. I didn't like the bracelet and I really can't live without a date window... fast forward yesterday. I slip this watch onto my wrist and love is rekindled. I like the chunky modern 93150 bracelet, the sleekness of the no date and the overall feel of a really cool sports watch. Got a 5513?

Feel free to spread the love

Everybody says the tritium turns into a dark patina when it is stored away and don't see any light, hmm yours didn't seem to do that, but a guy I know wears his sub everyday for over 15 years and it has a dark patina... Guess it's a theory

Dang I thought I saw my watch. Here is another puffy greenish lume goodness saying hi.

I blame it on autoconnect.

Very interesting and beautiful watch... But majority of people say keep the watch stored away at least 5 years and you will have yellow orange patina and if you wear it then it wont patina... So 10 years stored away and it looks white... Please people do give me your theory now...

I think the earlier 5513 had different lume mixture. It tends to b greenish n puffy. Mine glows for a second or two after charge.

i know the feeling of moving stuff around and rediscovering some watches not worn for years. here's a 5513 that's been sitting around in our house for a long time. found it in the rough and that's the way we kept it. kinda cool to look at but forgotten in a storage box as i prefer DJ and precision models.

hard to see thru the well-worn acrylic but the dial is flawless. these were indeed very tough watches.

never liked the date models. this one we rescued from the dead many years ago and also sits around in a box at out home as the top hat style crystal of these acrylic date models isn't my cup of tea.

Although not so obvious from the image this watch has lume plots that look like they were applied with a spritzer, they still glow quite strongly when you come in from the sunlight in a nice shade of lime green. The theory about storing watches in the dark to enhance patina turned up around the time a lot of dark patina watches started coming out of Honk Kong from a specific seller, I'm not sure if there is a connection
