bought my 662 and then got offered the 690 a week later, couldn't swing it. in hindsight should have passed on the 662 and bought the 690. i like the dial really amazing. someday i will have one, but for now....

Thanks for posting.

Based on the marketing materials, I’m thinking that in real life, the dials will be rather dark, with the blue being subtle.

Good luck and I hope you get one!

I can’t have them all, but I’d also really love the 690. But, alas, I’ll have to admire this one from afar.

Yikes—it looks like some pictures show the blues with silver and ecru hands while others show gold and ecru hands...very sloppy marketing...well the red gold blue will definitely have gold hands but I think the jury is out on the others...silver hands on blue dial may be a deal breaker for me...

judging from the pics the dial could be mate...not as mettalic and shiny like the 690, which i love in the sunlight. so no sunburst dial, but as they call it "satiné " soleil.
not sure if i am going to like this.well we will see

Satine soleil used To describe the dial you would hope it would have a sunburst effect of some sort.

That’s the same description they used to describe the 690 dial.

I agree it’s not the same, but the words used to describe the dial are.

Satin solie is a type of dial with the satin sheen...it doesn’t go to any particular colour, necessarily—it’s like saying that a new PAM will have a 1940 case...

Yes it's not the same dial at all. It's a light blue in the middle then gradients out to dark blue on the outside. Has the same finish that we have seen on the sun burst style dials though.

had springbars on my 634, it’s not impossible to remove them without scratching. there is a little ‘groove’ they go in to....needless to say I did scratch it up just a bit.

Am I the only one who doesn't like these kind of dials? Much prefer blue dials like on the BMG.
