You will get mixed reactions on the rootbeer in various forums but I personally love it.
Once, I had the opportunity to get a nipple-dial vintage plastic rootbeer but the seller was asking too much for a pretty banged-up piece. I know there will come a time that another good opportunity will come my way to get my own rootbeer. You have a nice rootbeer there. Thanks for sharing

Thanks everyone for the kind comments....Over at my side, It is kinda of hard to find rootbeer gmt II as the model is never popular during production period hence rare as hen teeth to find one in good condition....
For me i am a quirky guy that like unpopular dials and models....not into the usual black, white, blue dials for now...

Yep, I've just proved to myself that I'm new here because the first thing I thought when I read the thread title was: "IBC.....1919.....probably my two favorites". |

The nipple dial version seem to be really popular in here...Time to hunt for 1 piece over at my side....
Thanks for all the kind people in here to show me so many nice photos of the nipple dial!!!! Over at my side, Vintages are either super over-priced or in really nasty conditions... Sigh...

The rootbeer is a dial that tends to grow on one over time.
At first it didn't really interest me at all but over time itbecame a must have watch. Now as Rolex no longer make this colour dial GMT it will become a classic for sure...

Just got mine (second hand from 2006). I must say at first I never took interest in this Rolex, but now I must say that I really like it. Almost more than my Blue TT Sub.
Also is this still in prodution? Or what year was it last produced? Here is a bad pic. |
