Fake or real?

a popular topic!
got this bracelet for free, it's a long story, and while it is a replacement- not a Rolex, I feel the clasp is real. It looks it and feels it. I also think the codes tell alot and are very specific, it seems unlikely to be on a fake, unless the fake was copying a 1979 Rolex. "D12", as I understand it, means 1979, 12th month. I think the "18" means it would go with a two tone watch and bracelet... I know my pics are not the best. I think it is a real clasp.

At a glance that looks pretty good to me....Usually the "fancy Rolex design logo" looks terrible on fakes

But no guarantees

yes, from what I have read about online, those sweeping lines are correct. but what gets me on this one is the codes. Why would a fake select a specific code dating so far back in time and with an 18k marking as well...

the clasp also has a thickness to it. On no name, cheapos, the ones I've seen are sharp, you can almost cut yourself on them, like a razor...

Guys, I had a few in my hands, going back and forth like crazy, and I could not see any difference. I overlooked the "double coronet"... case closed!
